Issue Author's Response
On page 215, there's an example that loops through 10 messages within a transaction, then commits. On page 216, a couple of lines are introduced that tries to perform a nontransactional Send on a transactional queue. In the book, it says that a MessageQueueException is raised. When I try the example out for myself, no exception is raised (nor does the "M" message ever reach my transactional queue). All ten transactional messages still make it to the queue, which is what surprises me the most.

What could be going on? This looks like errata to me, but perhaps I'm mistaken.

By the way, the book has been very helpful to me. Thanks!

What verions of MSMQ and Windows are you using? A few things may be happening:
1. The product API may have changed to not raise exception
2. The queue that you are sending to may actually be transactional
3. The code is obsolete for the version of MSMQ you are using.
