Issue Author's Response
Ch8 P381, the final part (perpendicular axle joiner) shown in the centre table isn't shown in the 4th column of the parts picture on P379, and is in any case a duplicate of the same part and colour (but in a different quantity) four lines lower down.

Also, the Lego elastic bands used in construction aren't in the parts list - there seem to be lots of different sizes listed on Bricklist. Which ones should I get? (I haven't built it yet). Are the two from the NXT 2 kit okay?
In case of such doubts, you should trust the graphical Bill Of Materials, not the textual one. The Rubber band (as shown at page 483) is the yellow one, the biggest one made by LEGO.
CH 6

in the turtle robot, in the fsm program i find that the robot wakes itself up with its own snoring. as soon as it starts sleeping, it immediately gets scared.
This is because it ears a noise (maybe the head motor's noise) or sees something near, so it exits the sleep mode instantly, to enter scared mode. Check the behavior disconnecting the sound sensor, or changing its threshold.
p22 Chapter 2 Quasimodo
Hte program for Quasimodo uses 2 times a while-statement to detect if an obstacle is near/far :

// wait for an obstacle to come near
while (SensorUS(IN_4)<20);

// wait for the obstacle to get far
while (SensorUS(IN_4)>30);

For my Quasimodo to work, I had to replace '<' by '>' in the first while, and the opposite in the second while.
Your solution is correct.

Chapter 8, Page 381
Part Number 32034 appears twice. One with a quantity of 3 and then with a quantity of 2.
Part Number X344 - Should this be x403?
There are 2x (two) 32034 WHITE connectors, as shown in figure 8-10.
yes, that gear is x403.
Chapter 4, page 109:

Are you sure the legs should be joined with an 11-beam?
It seems to put the legs too close together.
The robot works as is.
