3D Printed Science Projects Launching at Maker Faire – Bay Area

Joan Horvath will be launching her latest title, 3D Printed Science Projects, Maker Fair—Bay Area (May 20-22, 2016). This release marks Joan’s fourth book on 3D printing and fourth title with Apress, with another due to release by the end of 2016 (Practical Fashion Tech).

With a constant growing interest in Maker technology, there are more novices and students joining the 3D printer movement. Apress is excited to provide quality titles aimed towards the expanding base of 3D printer users. This new title provides simple projects from which novices can learn the basics and later apply these concepts to more complicated and personalized projects.

Joan and her co-author, Rich Cameron, are focused on bridging scientists, educators, and makers. They are excited to share their knowledge of the Maker field for all levels of interest. For this upcoming release, Joan is focused on showing, “a teacher or students how to develop 3D printable models that can be changed based on science or math principles. We hope that teachers, kids and parents will take it and go on long explorations of their own with the starter set that we give them in the book. And we hope to see some really cool 3D printed science fair projects show up based on these models, too!"

Maker Faire attendees can meet Joan and Rich on both Saturday, May 21, and Sunday, May 22, at 12pm and 3pm PST at Booth #2123 (Zone 2) at the San Mateo County Events Center.

Joan and Rich are also co-chairs on the first ever Scientific Maker Symposium and Exhibit for the American Association for Advancement of Science (AAAS) Pacific Division which will be held on June 16, 2016 in San Diego. This exhibit is aimed at scientists who use maker technology to present their work.
