About the authors

Debra Nestel is Professor of Simulation Education in Healthcare at Monash University.Her research interests include the role of smiluation in supporting learning, particularly in procedural and operative skills. Se has extensive experience of working with simulated patients to support the development of communication and other professional skills.
Gabriel Reedy is the Director of Academic Programmes at King's Learning Institute and Programme Director of the Master of Arts in Clinical Education. His research interests focus on issues of teaching, learning and knowing in various contexts, professions, settings and using various technologies. His current funded research projects focus on the use of simulation in health professions education; the ways in which health professionals learn to practice in clinical settings; the ways in which early responders learn, both individually and in the context of teams, to deal with large-scale emergency events; and preparing health professionals to become educators in their professions.
Lissa McKenna is Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Monash University. She has extensive experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate health professionals, as well as nurses and midwives.Her current research is particularly focused around peer-assisted learning, simulation and nursing curricula.
Suzanne Gough is a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research interests include curriculum integration of simulation-based education (SBE), cardio-respiratory physiotherapy education, patient safety, human factors and inter-professional SBE, video-reflexivity and video-ethnography.
